Encompassing large UK cities, such as: Nottingham, Lincoln, Leicester and Derby, the East Midlands has a population close to 4.5 million people. The region is well known for its local delicacies which include the Bakewell tart, Bramley apple, Melton Mowbray pork pie and the Lincolnshire Sausage. Economically, large parts of the area are mainly agricultural but the East Midlands is also popular with manufacturing, retail and pharmaceutical companies.
