Manchester is located south of the pennies and a short distance from Liverpool. Manchester was a city on the decline in post-war Britain but received heavy investment towards the end of the 90's.

With fantastic transport links to other major areas by air, road and rail and with growing industries in the technology, media, banking, retail and scientific research areas, Manchester is the quickest growing major city in the United Kingdom.

The city is also renowned for its two high achieving football clubs which bear the name of the city, Manchester City and Manchester United. The latter of which has won 20 league titles and is one of the richest football clubs in the world.

Manchester is the second most visited city in the UK, after London, and visitors have a range of possible sites to explore including the Museum of Science and Industry, the Imperial War Museum, the National Football Museum and Grenada Studios.
