The city of Leicester can trace its roots back to roman times when the area was known as Ratae Corieltauvorum. Originally just a roman fort, an increase in trading and activity brought an influx of settlers and today Leicester has a population of over half a million people.
Trade in the city ranges from clock manufacture, to crisp factories, to jewellers.
