A mega city in its own right, Leeds is the economic driving force of West Yorkshire and receives generous access links through roads and rail to other major cities around the country, helping sustain its growth.

A major centre of wool production, the city of Leeds was once at the heart of textiles production in the UK, reflected in the home kit colour of its football club, Leeds United who wear white, influenced by the Yorkshire rose but also the White Cloth Hall where white broadcloth was once produced.

Leeds boasts two universities, an attractive cultural quarter and is the home to a range of high grossing companies including William Hill, ASDA and Direct Line. In the finance sector, the city provides a home of operations for banking giants such as Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds and RBS – proving an ever popular alternative to Manchester and London.
